Move over Pizza & Pages, a new teen book discussion group is in town! Books & Bites meets every third Monday (with some exceptions) at various eateries in and around the community. This month's read is Esperanza Rising, a story about a young girl and her mother who are forced to leave their life of wealth and privelege in Mexico to go work in the labor camps of Southern California after a sudden tragedy. Here, they must learn how to adapt to the harsh lifestyle that now faces them. Treat yourself after reading the book to a dinner or dessert at Panera Bread and discuss it with others. The group will be meeting at Panera Bread located at 4221 Recreation Drive in Canandaigua, NY on Monday, October 15 at 6 PM. Teen Nite

Play or dance your school blues away at the next Teen Nite at Wood Library on Thursday, October 11 from 7-8 PM. Rock out playing Guitar Hero: Rock the 80s, burn some calories by dancing to DDR, share some laughs with friends playing Twister and other board games, or learn something new surfing the web. Nintendo DS Lite Winner!

Congratulations to Kasey Semmler, the winner of the Nintendo DS Lite! She won the grand prize by solving the Summer Mystery Murder at Wood Library. Kasey accused Jim Shortz of poisoning Mr. E Librarian's pencil (the one he liked to chew) because he mentioned raising the overdue fines to $1 a day for books. And she was right! Thanks to everyone who participated! I hope to see you again next summer!

New Video Games Added Daily!

Check back each week as new video games are added to the teen collection found in the Teen Lounge at Wood Library. Wood Library carries Xbox, Xbox 360, Nintendo GameCube, Playstation 2, and now Nintendo DS games! Don't see what you want on the shelf? If available, put it on hold from another library or if you can't find it, tell us to order it!

Pizza Taste-Off Winners are IN!

Thank you to the experienced pizza tasters who came to Wood Library on Friday, August 31, 2007 to sample nine different pizzas kindly provided by local area pizzerias. Over 30 teens enjoyed sampling piece after piece of pizza and choosing their favorites. It was a very tough decision.
